The clients for this house in Fishers Indiana sought to create a new contemporary home on a wooded waterfront site. The Indianapolis House design incorporates the desire for exterior views by providing a series of carefully framed panoramas of the landscape through room-scaled apertures. The tapered geometry of the walls and profiles creates unique frames that appear "dimensionless" and "dematerialized." For the couple's three teenage daughters, an amphitheater stair at the entrance gives direct access to the upper level, a measure of autonomy that is unique to the single family home type.
